The Lynn Tech girls track team won the Commonwealth Athletic Conference (CAC) championship on Wednesday, defeating Greater Lawrence to climb to 7-0 on the season and improve upon its 6-1 record from a year ago.
“It was unbelievable,” head coach James Runner said. “Just a complete team win [and] I’m very proud of our athletes at Lynn Tech.”
From underclassmen all the way up, there was consistent production.
“I’m just really proud of the upperclassmen that stepped up today, and we have a good core of underclassmen that just work very, very hard.”
Despite losing on Wednesday, the boys finished 5-2 on the season and Runner said he’s very proud of the group.
“Just because they didn’t win the conference, [it] doesn’t mean they’re not really good,” Runner said.
