The Lynn Tech girls track team won the Commonwealth Athletic Conference (CAC) championship on Wednesday, defeating Greater Lawrence to climb to 7-0 on the season and improve upon its 6-1 record from a year ago.

“It was unbelievable,” head coach James Runner said. “Just a complete team win [and] I’m very proud of our athletes at Lynn Tech.”

From underclassmen all the way up, there was consistent production.

“I’m just really proud of the upperclassmen that stepped up today, and we have a good core of underclassmen that just work very, very hard.”

Despite losing on Wednesday, the boys finished 5-2 on the season and Runner said he’s very proud of the group.

“Just because they didn’t win the conference, [it] doesn’t mean they’re not really good,” Runner said.

Talk about a versatile offensive attack – look no further than the Lynnfield boys hockey team. In its dominating performance against Pentucket, Jack Carpenter lit the lamp twice, Nicholas Lucich added another, and siblings Aiden and Will Norton accounted for the other two. Dan McSweeney also impressed with 32 saves between the pipes.

Also in enemy territory, St. Mary’s girls hockey team returned to Lynn victorious after beating Matignon 3-0. Jenna Chaplain (2) and Abbie Poole were the Spartans’ goal-scorers, continuing their stellar seasons.
