Vice President of Student Success at Salem State University Dr. Nate Bryant has been elected to the Northeast Arc Board of Directors.
Dr. Bryant oversees the area of enrollment management, The Center for Academic Excellence, marketing and communications, public relations, and student life at the university. He was also named one of the 50 Most Influential People of Color in Higher Education in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
He was selected to become a board member due to his career in higher education, which spans over 30 years. In a statement, Dr. Bryant expressed his gratitude for being named to the board.
“I’m honored to join the Northeast Arc’s board of directors,” he said. “I have seen first-hand the incredible work the organization does to help people living with developmental disabilities. The programming that Northeast Arc has developed through innovative and creative thinking is making a true difference in the lives of the people they serve and their families.”
Dr. Bryant earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in education from Salem State University. He then acquired a doctorate in higher education from the University of Massachusetts Boston. Additionally, Dr. Bryant attended Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education, Institution for Educational Management, an institute focused on leadership for senior level administrators in higher education.
With Massachusetts continuing to expand access to higher education opportunities for young adults with intellectual disabilities or autism, Dr. Bryant is joining Northeast Arc at an important time.
Board Chair Mike Foraste said that the team was excited to bring on Dr. Bryant.
“Nate is a terrific addition to our board of directors,” Foraste said. “His breadth of experience in higher education brings a unique perspective to the organization and I look forward to working with him.”
