SWAMPSCOTT — The police department put out a press release Thursday asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who has been presenting counterfeit Coinstar receipts to the Stop & Shop in town.
“The suspect has presented multiple receipts over the past few days,” the press release said.
According to Detective Ted Delano, the man has stolen hundreds of dollars from the store.
“So we’re just looking to ID him and hold him responsible for what he’s doing,” Delano said.
On Feb. 22 the Stop & Shop captured the suspect on video. He appeared to be an approximately 60-year-old bald white male, with gray hair on the sides of his head and a gray mustache. At the time of the incident he was wearing glasses, a light blue jean button-down jacket, a red and white checkered button-down shirt, and light-colored pants.
