LYNN — A 46 year-old man was shot multiple times at approximately 9:44 p.m. Tuesday on the second story of 119 Lewis St.

Crime scene tape stretched around the corner of Autumn Street and Lewis Street Tuesday night as police officers entered and exited the three-story building with cameras.

Lynn Police Lieutenant Tom Holland said at 10:40 p.m. that police had a suspect in custody, and were not searching for another suspect.

The suspect, Lt. Michael Kmiec said Wednesday morning, is a 48-year-old man.

Kmiec said the victim was transported to Mass General Hospital for life-threatening injuries. Holland said the man was in stable condition as of 10:45 p.m. Tuesday.

This incident marks the second shooting in Lynn within a 24 hour timeframe. Monday night at 10:47  p.m., police arrested three men alleged to have shot a house on Southside Avenue.

This report will be updated as further details arise.
