LYNN — Those who wish to get into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit a day early this year can swing by Lynn Housing Authority and Neighborhood Development’s (LHAND) Non-Alcoholic St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon at noon this Thursday at 10 Church St.

This year’s celebration marks the first annual luncheon since 2019, when the tradition was put on a hiatus because of the pandemic.

The celebration will feature an Irish boiled meal and live comedy performed by Irish comedians from Giggles Comedy Club in Saugus. LHAND will also present winners for “Irish Person of the Year,” the “Community Service Award,” and the “LHAND Board of Commissioners Service Award.”

Tickets for Thursday’s luncheon cost $25 for an individual and $200 to reserve a table for nine.

LHAND Executive Secretary Kiara Palomares said the annual luncheon has been a tradition since 1998, and that she was excited to see the community eat and laugh together after the hiatus.

“It’s a way for people to come together and socialize. I think that’s what makes this year’s event so special. We haven’t had it in three years, so I think the community’s excited to get back together and socialize — bond over a meal and laugh together,” Palomares said.
