Police find alleged drug front at Lynn convenience store

March 14, 2023 by Anthony Cammalleri

LYNN — Law enforcement officers found large quantities of fentanyl and cocaine inside Dyckmn Convenience on Munroe Street — a business police believe was used as a front for a literal drug store.

In a joint investigation conducted by Lynn Police, Massachusetts State Police, and the Drug Enforcement Administration, officers recovered roughly 358 grams of cocaine, 230 grams of pressed fentanyl pills, a pound of marijuana, and close to $6,000 in cash after raiding the business Friday evening. They also found a 9mm Ruger pistol loaded with five rounds.

Joseph Pressley, 30, of Lynn was arrested in connection to the raid and charged with numerous firearm charges, along with two separate drug trafficking charges — trafficking more than 200 grams of fentanyl, and trafficking more than 200 grams of cocaine.

Pressley was held without bail in his arraignment at Lynn District Court Monday, pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Friday at Lynn District Court.

Lynn Police Lieutenant Michael Kmiec said that police and federal agents began investigating the store nearly two months prior to the search.

“This just displays the work that the drug task force does,” Kmiec said. “Sometimes the investigation takes a while, but that store was a front for a drug business, and we’re glad that they’re shut down right now.”
