I would like to comment on Msgr. Paul Garrity’s article (Daily Item, March 8) about the gay and lesbian community.
It’s true the Roman Catholic Church does not approve of same-sex marriage or women priests. But I believe all of us have a God-given right to have our own thoughts and opinions: Catholics, Baptists, Evangelicals, Protestants, Muslims, Atheists.
We have a free will no matter our religion or what our religion holds to believe. We all are unique.
I admire Msgr. Paul Garrity for his thoughts on the gay community and wish him well. In fact, Pope Francis is softening his stance on the issue of gay rights. So let’s all try to respect each other and try to get along. No matter our religion.
