LYNN – The city is looking to hire four full-time and four part-time custodians to aid the Inspectional Services Department in Lynn Public Schools.
Custodians play a key role in maintaining school buildings and grounds.
Mayor Jared Nicholson said in a statement that custodians play an essential part in making sure that the schools can operate safely and effectively.
“Custodial staff are essential to every building and we are thrilled to expand this team,” he said. “Ensuring that our facilities are well-maintained is crucial to fostering a positive learning and working environment for the children and educators at each of our schools. We hope to add new team members who share this vision.”
For full-time employees, the starting salary will start at approximately $52,000. Those looking to apply have until the end of the day on March 29. The applications can be found in three locations: on the City of Lynn’s website, in person at the Personnel Department, and on the Personnel Department’s Facebook page.
In a statement, Superintendent Debra Ruggiero called custodians “quiet heroes” and “part of the heart of our schools,” reaffirming that they are an integral part of a successful school.
“They play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and order of our schools. They are the first ones to arrive each day, always cleaning up the messes in support of our students and staff,” said Ruggiero. “It is said that the custodian is one of the first people you want to get to know. Behind every great school is a caring custodian.”
Completed applications can be sent via email to [email protected], by regular post, or in person at the Personnel Department, Room 307 at Lynn City Hall. If submitting by email, include the job title in the subject line.
