You know what I’ve been thinking? Even during a quiet week between the winter and spring sports seasons, there was plenty of action. In the MIAA Girls Hockey All-Star Game, Team North came to play with a 5-1 win against South in the Bay State matchup. That said, what’s the local angle here? Well, a few of those St. Mary’s Spartans not only took part, but thrived. Amanda Forziati scored the first goal of the game, with familiar teammate Jenna Chaplain picking up the assist – it was a beautiful dish from the defensive zone. Then, it was Chaplain’s turn. Her one-timer found twine later in the game to give North a commanding 3-0 lead, and she was involved in another goal afterward. North cruised to a four-goal win, and, of course, Forziati and Chaplain skated off in style. On a side note, Forziati had 24 points this season alongside Chaplain’s 47, so we really shouldn’t be surprised at their performances. Team North, good week.
