Massachusetts State Police and officers from Manchester, New Hampshire searched the wetlands near Lynn Marsh Road off of Route 107 on the Revere–Saugus line Friday morning as part of an investigation into the disappearance and presumed death of Harmony Montgomery.
David Procopio, a Massachusetts State Police spokesperson, said new information gathered by investigators prompted the search, which began shortly after 9 a.m.
18 state troopers assigned to the Special Emergency Response Team surveyed the area alongside Manchester police, four K-9 units, and a state police drone unit.
Montgomery was 5 years old when she went missing in New Hampshire in 2019. In October 2022 her father, Adam Montgomery, pleaded not guilty to a second-degree murder charge in connection with his daughter’s disappearance.
Last month, Adam Montgomery was indicted on unrelated gun charges in New Hampshire. In 2022, Fox25 reported that he was also a suspect in the 2008 murder of Darlin Guzman, of Lynn, who was shot to death outside 9 Austin Square the evening of Feb. 10, 2008.
In a written statement Friday, Manchester Police said no additional information would be released at this time.
“Officials caution against any speculation related to the potential results of this search,” said Police Chief Allen Aldenberg.
Procopio also said on Friday that the search had been concluded, and that no further information would be released.
