The MBTA has announced its service information for Monday, April 17 ahead of the 127th running of the Boston Marathon.
The Red, Orange, Blue, and Silver Lines will operate on their regular weekly schedule, and additional services will be provided before and after the race.
Those taking the Commuter Rail to and from the city will have an option to purchase a Commuter Rail Marathon Pass for $15. The pass gives riders access to unlimited travel on the Commuter Rail for the entire day, through all zones. The pass will be available via cash or card on all trains, however it is not valid for bus or subway travel, nor can it be purchased at fare vending machines.
Those traveling from Lynn, Lynnfield, Marblehead, Nahant, Peabody, or Saugus can take the Commuter Rail from Swampscott Station, Salem Station, or Wakefield Station. A shuttle bus will be running in between Lynn and Swampscott to transport riders affected by the Lynn Station shutdown.
Copley Station will be closed for public safety reasons and riders are encouraged to use Arlington Station, Prudential Station, Hynes Convention Center Station, or Back Bay Station on the Orange Line. Above-ground Green Line stops at South Street (B Branch), Kent Street (C Branch), and St. Mary’s Street (C Branch) will be closed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Customers are encouraged to visit the MBTA’s Boston Marathon Guide at mbta.com/marathon to locate the best viewing locations along the T for the marathon.
Riders are advised to plan for additional travel time and delays throughout the day.
