Accident

A report of a motor vehicle accident at 5:20 p.m. Sunday at Baily Hill lot, Trimountain Road.

Complaint

A report of loud people 12:31 a.m. Sunday at Commercial Street. 

Theft

A report of larceny/forgery/fraud at 10:36 a.m. Sunday at Washington Street.

Vandalism

A report of vandalism at 12:00 p.m. Sunday at Dodge Road.

SAUGUS

Accident

A report of a motor vehicle collision in the parking lot at Square One Mall, 1201 Broadway. A Casella Trash Company employee told police one of their trucks took down a light pole in the parking lot. Dispatched officers determined the wires and light pole were not a hazard.

Animal

A caller reported a dog locked in a car that appeared to be in distress at 4:34 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 770 Broadway. The report was determined to be unfounded. 

Complaints

A caller reported her neighbor playing loud music at 2:28 a.m. Monday at Laurel Gardens, 2 Rice St. #122. Dispatched officers reported the surrounding apartments were quiet. 

An officer at 7:53 a.m. Monday responded to the Veterans Early Learning Center, 25 Hurd Ave. to assist with school traffic flow. 

Disturbances

A caller at 4:23 a.m. Monday at Holiday Inn Express, 999 Broadway reported locking himself in the bathroom of Room 222. He was whispering and asking if the call could be traced because there was a man in his hotel room. Dispatched officers spoke with the man, who said the person left his room and he would meet officers in the lobby. Officers reported the man moved rooms for the night. 

A caller reported a man in a blue hoodie was attempting to cross the median on Route 1 at 8:10 a.m. Monday in the area of McDonald’s, 127 Broadway.

Dispute

Officers at 1:40 p.m. Monday responded to a neighbor dispute at 40 Boulder Road. The residents at 38 Boulder Road and 40 Boulder Road were arguing about the placement of a mailbox, and a verbal altercation ensued. Officers spoke to all parties involved and referred the mailbox matter to USPS and peace was restored. Both parties were told to call the department if any further issues arose. 

Suspicions

A caller from Virginia reported someone was using her credit card at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at IHOP, 114 Broadway. Officers identified the suspect’s vehicle. 

A report of a suspicious person at 12:07 a.m. Monday at 45 Seagrit Ave. A caller reported a man shining a flashlight into her window, who she saw walking towards Cogliano Plaza. Dispatched officers didn’t find anything suspicious after conducting an area check. 

A walk-in at 12:13 p.m. Monday reported Eastern Bank notified her of suspicious activity on her debit card. 

Thefts

A report of breaking and entering/burglary at 6:35 p.m. Sunday at Macy’s Department Store, Square One Mall, 1201 Broadway. Loss prevention reported finding a video of an attempted break-in a few hours prior.

A walk-in report of identity fraud at 11:34 a.m. Monday at 34 Cheever Ave. A woman reported someone used her information to apply for unemployment benefits.
