PEABODY — Nominations are being accepted for the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce INCredible Business Awards as a way to recognize the individuals and businesses that go above and beyond in the community every day.

“As an organization, the chamber has the pleasure of seeing firsthand how many amazing businesses and individuals work every day to succeed in business and improve the lives of others,” said Chamber President Deanne Healey. “I am also pleased that the INCredible Business Awards includes the return of the long-standing Mary Upton Ferrin and Harry Ankeles Community Service recognition, which the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce championed for many years.”

Nominations are being sought in the following categories:

Champion of Diversity — Recognizes a business or nonprofit organization that has made an impactful commitment to embracing diversity in the workplace, supplier partnerships, or the community.

Minority Business Enterprise Award — Recognizes outstanding business achievements of a minority-owned business in establishing a successful business model or contributing to the community.

Business of the Year — Recognizes a company for its creativity and imagination in development of its business, demonstration of growth, and reflection on internal or external social responsibility.

Non-Profit of the Year — Recognizes a nonprofit serving the Peabody area that is helping to improve our local community with innovative services or programs. Sponsored by the North Shore Bank.

Family Business of the Year — Recognizes the accomplishments and impact of a family-owned business.

Young Professional of the Year — Presented to an individual under the age of 40 who has made a significant contribution to their company and community.

First Responder Award — Recognizes a law enforcement officer, paramedic, emergency medical technician, or firefighter that has made a difference beyond the role of their job description. Sponsored by JJR Enterprise.

Community Champion — Recognizes an individual that makes a difference in the community through volunteering or leading an initiative that is not related to their job description.

Mary Upton Ferrin Award — Recognizes a business professional identifying as female who has contributed to the civic well-being of her community outside of her job duties.

Harry Ankeles Award — Recognizes a business professional identifying as male who has contributed to the civic well-being of his community outside of his job duties.

Nominations must be submitted in writing by May 5, 2023 to [email protected] and must include the full name of the business/person, contact information, and the award they are being nominated for. Nominations should provide very detailed and specific information on why the nominee should be considered for the award. Self-nominations are accepted. All nominations for awards will be reviewed by a committee made up of Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce members.

Nominees must be members of the chamber. This requirement does not apply to the First Responder or Community Champion Award. To check nominees’ status, go to www.peabodychamber.com.
