Lynn Tech remains perfect in track and field (ROUNDUP)

Both the boys and girls track teams of Lynn Tech moved to 3-0 with wins against Nashoba Tech on Wednesday. Brianna Anderson and Jireilis DeJesuswon each won four events for the girls, while Eimy Troncoso (400m) and Lee Lewis (javelin) also placed first among other Tigers.

For the boys, Cesar Reyes won both the high and long jumps, while Bryton Osgood placed first in the mile and 400m. Tyler David won shot put, and Diego Castro snagged first in the 800m.

BASEBALL

Classical 8
Revere 6

The Rams (8-1) rolled to another win on Wednesday, this time against Revere. Brady Warren had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and a home run.

Sam Ohnessian was 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and a two-RBI double. Christian Figueroa and Yoniel Cabral also went home with an RBI, while Christian Spates scored a run to go with his one hit.

TJ Walsh went the distance, allowing four runs and striking out one across seven innings.

Lynn Classical returns to action Friday at Medford (4 p.m.).

Medford 14
English 9

Things were knotted 5-5 in the fifth inning, but Medford found its hitting and pulled away inning by inning. English collected 12 hits in the high-scoring affair while Medford had 13, and Medford’s nine-run fifth inning was the difference-maker.

Janier Rodriguez, Mateo Rodriguez, and Gilbert Galva each had multiple hits for English, as Rodriguez led the way with three hits in five at-bats. Eldrian Bonilla took the loss on the mound, allowing eight hits to go with a strikeout across 4 2/3 innings.

Fenwick 11
Marblehead 1

Costa Beechin and Nick Villano each secured three RBI, and Fenwick rolled over Marblehead 11-1 on Wednesday for its sixth consecutive win. Mike Williams got the start, allowing just two hits in four innings to go with six strikeouts.

Bodie Bartram and Charlie Sachs were responsible for Marblehead’s two hits – headlining a quiet offensive showing from the Magicians.

St. John’s Prep 10
Catholic Memorial 1

Jack Difillipo secured a three-run double, Nic Lembo stole four bases and drove in a run, and Deacon Robillard collected two hits in St. John’s Prep’s 10-1 win against Catholic Memorial in enemy territory.

Prep was efficient, scoring its 10 runs on just seven hits and taking advantage of CM’s two errors. Drew McGowan led the way on the mound, striking out four and allowing just two hits across three innings.

SOFTBALL

Classical 14
Revere 4

MeKayla Poisson did it all in Classical softball’s 14-4 win against Revere on Wednesday, racking up two RBI at the plate, and 10 strikeouts on the mound while allowing just three hits.

Classical’s Manuela Lizardo blasted a solo home run to center field, while Brooke Braswell went 3-for-3 to go with an RBI and three runs.

Classical (5-2) has its biggest test of the season on Friday as the Rams take on 5-0 Medford.

North Reading 13
Lynnfield 0

In just 4 innings and change, Lynnfield recorded just four hits and lost to North Reading 13-0. Ava Gamache, Morgan Hubbard, Celia Carbone, and Ava Marotta secured the hits.

Marblehead 15
Swampscott 3

CeCe O’Connor smashed her first home run while Olivia Barletta added two hits, and Swampscott’s softball team ran away with things against rival Marblehead. Maddie Lilley played well on the mound.

GIRLS LACROSSE

St. Mary’s 12
Stang 11

The Spartans improved to 4-3 with Ava Nason (4 goals), Kasey Litwin (3), Vanessa Hall (3), and Jill Kirby all finding twine, while goalie Payton Quirk (22 saves) impressed between the pipes – the netminder racked up three crucial stops late to secure the win.

BOYS TENNIS

St. John’s Prep 5
Catholic Memorial 0

Paul Neal, a Peabody native, led the attack at number one singles without losing a single set, and Prep upped its record to 4-0 in the conference and 8-0 overall. The Eagles take on Wellesley at home on Friday.

GIRLS TENNIS

Lynnfield 3
North Andover 2

Paige Martino (6-0, 6-2) and Genna Gioioso (6-3, 6-4) recorded singles wins, while the combination of Ella Hayman and Ciara Long got the job done in come-from-behind fashion in doubles (0-6, 6-4, 6-4).

Lynnfield upped its record to 5-1 with the win.
