Students from Swampscott High School Music Department and Drama Club will perform this year’s spring musical, “Cabaret,” next week.
Leave your troubles outside, and hear some of the most memorable songs in theater history, including “Cabaret,” “Willkommen,” and “Maybe This Time.” While 1930s Berlin rages on, life is beautiful at the Cabaret!
“The themes of racism and political fanaticism that exist in the world of Cabaret (Berlin, Germany as the Nazis came to power) still exist in our society today,” Director Jim Pearse said in a statement. “It’s an amazing, iconic show with great singing and dancing, but the story is profound.”
Performances will take place each night from May 4 through May 6 at 7 p.m. in the high school’s auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at ticketstage.com/T/SWAMPSCOTTMS. Tickets are $15 for adults, and $10 for students and seniors over the age of 65.
