Peabody’s girls lacrosse team has a special player on its hands in Brooke Lomasney. In a 15-11 win over Lexington, Lomasney scored seven goals, including her 100th career goal.
Lomasney also showed she’s a willing passer, assisting twice on the day. Fellow sophomore Ally Bettencourt scored four times and assisted twice. In net, Caitlin Snow made five saves.
The win moves the Tanners to 7-3. The Tanners next match is on Thursday, when they travel to Masco for a 4:30 game.

The Magicians found themselves down 10-3 at half and put together a strong second half, outsourcing Beverly 5-3, but it wasn’t enough on the day. Sydney Langton, Lucy Wales, Ramona Gillett, and Maddie Forbes all scored two goals. In net, Kate Santesanio made nine saves.

Swampscott improves to 6-2 after a strong display. Avery Laundry led the Big Blue with five goals, while teammate Coco Clopton chipped in with four. Goalie Lilah Caplan saved 10 shots. The Big Blue hosts Gloucester on Thursday.

The game was a pitching duel, as Danvers pitched a five-hitter and it was enough to earn the win. Carter McFadden and Mike Williams were on the mound for the Crusaders and combined to throw a four-hitter.

The Eagles defended home field, earning them a Catholic Conference victory. “Defensively, Alex Perault, Nate Jones and Nick Schibli played well,” Coach John Pynchon said. Jimmy Ayers scored four goals for the Eagles, while Chris Esposito went 13-of-24 on face-offs.

First singles, Heaven Veliz De Leon, won her match 7-6, 6-1 to get English off to a fast start. Revere then made a comeback to put pressure on the Bulldogs. First doubles Sophia Johansson and Heba Belmir won their match (7-5, 6-1). Then, it was Jessica Prak and Claudia Lopez winning to earn the Bulldogs the match win.

With the match tied at two, the Big Blue needed two freshmen to team up and win their doubles match to bring home the victory. In her first varsity match, Ava O’Donnell teamed up with Ana Eccles and the freshman duo battled to victory (6-7, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3).
