SALEM — William Forbes, of Lynn, was convicted on Monday of 12 felony counts for raping and sexually abusing children. The conviction came after a four-day trial at Salem Superior Court starting on April 25, according to a press release from Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker’s office.
Forbes was indicted in 2021 on charges of abusing two victims in Lynn, the press release said.
“The charges included multiple counts of rape of a child; assault to rape; indecent assault and battery on a person under 14; and indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over,” the press release said.
Sentencing for Forbes is scheduled for May 19, according to the press release. His bail was revoked and he has been taken into custody.
