To the editor:
I read Jeff Snow’s letter in Monday’s Item about the responsiveness of city councilors, and how he feels it is difficult to receive any concrete resolutions to his concerns in his neighborhood.
My family and I moved to Lynn in 2017 from Everett. Immediately upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed into Pine Hill by our neighbor, Donald Castle.
Castle has organized many events for our neighborhood, including a celebration of the 100th birthday of our neighborhood fire house on Woodlawn Street. He knows we all love having the fire house open and knows we will fight as a group to keep it open.
Castle is very responsive. He holds neighborhood and crime-watch meetings in conjunction with the Pine Hill Civic Association. There are several seniors on our street. He mows their lawns and shovels their yards all the time. He also fights to keep the streets clean.
Castle is a candidate for councilor-at-large. I am proud to call him my friend. He will work tirelessly for you as your councilor, just like he does for all of us in our neighborhood. Please vote for him this year.
Sincerely,
Kamala Vasanthakumar
