In a continuation of Thursday’s game – the lights went out at Fraser Field – Lynn Classical’s baseball team (13-1) defeated Lynn English 10-2 on Friday.

TJ Walsh did it all for the Rams, earning the win on the mound and going 2-for-2 at the plate with three RBI. Christian Figueroa was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI.

Sam Ohannesian had a hit and an RBI, Ethan Chevalier had an RBI sacrifice fly, Kevin Whalen registered a two-RBI double, and Yoniel Cabral connected on a hit to go with two runs and an RBI for Classical.

English failed to register a run on Friday, as both of its runs were carried over from Thursday night.

BASEBALL

Lynn Tech 11
KIPP 2

Last Friday, May 5, Tech defeated KIPP 2-1. In this one, Tech led just 5-2 heading into the seventh inning, but the Tigers pounced to score six more.

“Tough loss. We hung tough, but had a couple of letdown innings where we let it get away,” KIPP coach Jim Rabbitt said.

KIPP’s Chanel Gutierrez registered a triple, scored a run after stealing home, and was 2-for-4 in total. Morenel Castro also went 2-for4, while Alan Delgado added a triple and a run.

SOFTBALL

Tech traveled to face Nashoba Tech on Friday, but returned empty-handed in an 11-0 final.

“Unfortunately, we left too many runners on base,” Tech coach Beth Mercaldi said.

That said, Tech’s infield played well defensively with Isabella Walcott at shortstop, Mahlyna Williams at second, and Genevieve McCafferty at first.

“[They] were responsible for making most of the outs,” Mercaldi said.

The Tigers return to action Thursday when they host Lynn English.

BOYS TENNIS

Lynnfield 5
Fenwick 0

Lynnfield’s boys tennis team (10-1) kept the ball rolling Friday, besting Bishop Fenwick in straight matches.

Like clockwork this season, Dan Levin, Shea McCarthy, and Shlok Kudrimoti dominated singles action, and without conceding a point, the duos of Russ Casdon-Rafik Khodr and Ari Shriustara-Salil Akhter did their jobs in doubles.

The Pioneers remain undefeated in the Cape Ann League at 8-0.

GIRLS TENNIS

Swampscott 4
Gloucester 1

Swampscott’s tennis team (5-6) took care of business against Gloucester on Friday, winning 4-1 with winners dominating from beginning to end.

Veronika Isagulyan (6-2, 6-0) and Laine Foutes (6-1, 6-0) got it done in singles, while the combinations of Victoria Quagrello-Ana Eccles (6-1, 6-4) and Stella Sands-Noelle Diehl (6-2, 6-0) won easily in doubles.

TRACK AND FIELD

The Saugus girls ran away with things against Winthrop on Friday (92-37), but the boys lost 76-57. Nevertheless, there were strong performances all over the place.

Destiny Okoye placed first in high jump (4′ 08″), Jessica Bremberg won long jump (16′ 02.5″) and triple jump (33′ 04″), and Diana Sosa-Martinez snagged first in shot put (28′ 10.5″) and discus (75′ 11″).

In a track and field hat-trick, Justin Bremberg won discus (86′ 04″), the 400mh (1.09.1), and 400m (58.7).
