LYNN —A brush fire in Lynn Woods has burned 100 to 130 acres in the Pennybrook Road area, according to District Fire Chief Joseph Zukas.
The Pennybrook Road entrance to Lynn Woods is closed to the public as firefighting operations continue from the brush fire that started on the afternoon of May 12. Public access to trails north of Walden Pond is still prohibited as well.
Lynn Fire Department and the Department of Conservation and Recreation began work in the Pennybrook area around 8 a.m. and they finished up around 3:30 p.m., according to Zukas.
The area around the Great Woods Road Path in Lynn Woods is still accessible to the public.
