Peabody’s boys lacrosse team (9-9) trailed Bishop Fenwick 6-4 in Friday’s Danish Cup, but came all the way back to win 10-7 at home. Better yet – the Tanners clinched a spot in the Division 1 state tournament with the win.
Don Cavanaugh gave Peabody a 7-6 lead in the third quarter, and Danny Barrett, Matt Bettencourt, and Johnny Lucas all went home with two goals for the Tanners.
Connor Anezsis, Matt Lindstrom, and Jason Houlden tallied Peabody’s other three goals. The win marks the end of the regular season for the Blue and White.

Lynn English and Revere were tied 10-10 in the eighth inning before Jason Figuereo’s sac fly sent a Bulldog home for the eventual game-winning run.
Eldrian Bonilla went 3-for-4 and drove in six runs. He also opened the scoring with a three-run home run on a 2-0 count. Alijah Wallace earned the win, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out two across three innings.
Guilmer Galva started the game for English, retiring eight and allowing five hits. English registered 13 hits in total, while Revere went home with nine.

Nick Berube went five strong innings on the mound for the Big Blue, giving up three runs and striking out eight in his team’s 8-3 win against Saugus.
Berube had two hits and a run on offense, while Jason Bouffard had a four-hit game with three RBI and two runs scored. Sam Nadworny and Chase Groothuis had two hits apiece with Nadworny scoring three runs and Groothuis driving in two.
Jamison Ford pitched a perfect final two innings for Swampscott, retiring four.

Lily Newell was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, while Rachel Dana went home with two hits and two RBI. Freshman Brooke Braswell had two hits, two runs, and an RBI.

St. Mary’s softball team upped its record to 16-2 with a dominant showing against Arlington Catholic. Michaela Walker belted a pair of home runs, while Lory Suriel and Ryleigh Williams also slammed homers.

Ruby Calienes allowed three hits and retired 10 in Marblehead’s 12-1 thrashing of Swampscott Friday. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate.
Marblehead freshman Isabel Mortensen went 3-for-4, while teammates Sophia Hallisey and Eva Walton each went 2-for-4.
Tessa Andriano returned from an ankle injury, and it’s safe to say Marblehead is a better team with her in the lineup.
“She made her presence known with an excellent catch in foul territory, as well as knocking in two runs with a double to deep center,” Marblehead coach Jonathan Gold said.

Lynnfield (10-7) officially qualified for the Division 4 state championship with an 18-5 win against Manchester-Essex. Sophia Brown pitched five innings to earn the win, striking out five and allowing just five hits.
Ava Gamache homered and had three singles – driving in four runs – while Lauren Amico tacked on three hits and five RBI.

Payton Quirk made five saves, Jill Kirby had two goals and two assists, and Kasey Litwin had a hat-trick of goals and assists in St. Mary’s 15-6 win against Boston Latin.
Abbie Poole and Ava Nason scored three goals apiece, while Chloe Sullivan added two. Gabbi Oakes, Vanessa Hall, and Camdyn Driscoll all went home with points, and will be back in action Saturday against Triton at Manning Field with the opening faceoff set for 2 p.m.

Lynn Tech’s volleyball team fought hard against Innovation, but fell 3-2 in set scores of 20-25, 25-19, 17-25, 25-18, 10-15. Didlaire Jacques Jr. had eight kills, nine blocks, one ace, and one assist, while Elmer Duran had 10 digs, eight assists, three aces, and one kill.
Jephthah Onyighichi added six blocks and four kills, Joseph Amaro had six digs and five aces, and Keury Mena had 11 digs, two kills and two aces.

Lynn Classical’s girls tennis team lost a close one to Medford Friday, but positives were aplenty. Linda Jallow won first singles and Jauselin Mensah followed in second singles. Both wins were 6-0, 6-1.

Lynnfield’s girls tennis team (10-5) got off to the right start with Paige Martino winning in first singles (7-6, 6-3), but from that point on, it was all Manchester-Essex.
Genna Gioioso played well in second singles, winning a set. Ella Hayman and Vicky McCrann had a few bright moments in second doubles, but it wasn’t enough to find victory.
“[It was a] very competitive match,” Lynnfield coach Tracy Ackerman said. [We] could meet again in the Division 4 state tournament.”

Veronika Isagulyan (first singles, 6-4, 6-1), Laine Foutes (second singles, 6-1, 6-2), and the duo of Anna Ratner and Victoria Quagrello (second doubles, 6-3, 6-4) were Swampscott’s winners on Friday, and that was enough for a win against Beverly.
Swampscott upped its record to 8-6 and takes on Lynnfield Tuesday.
