LYNN — Iglesias Unidas para Adorar a Dios, a Hispanic faith group that seeks peace and wellbeing in the city, is donating $5,000 to the Lynn Hispanic Scholarship Fund and $5,000 to Pathways Adult School.
The group is also having a free event on at 2 p.m. on July 9 at Manning Field.
“This event … will be historic, challenging, and motivating to achieve the desired peace and well-being,” a press release from the organization said. “The renowned international group Miel San Marcos will attend it from Guatemala, and the singer and preacher of Argentine origin, Juan Carlos Fernandez, known as “Rabito.”
President of the Lynn Hispanic Scholarship Fund Vicky Rivera said she was really excited about the donation.
“This is just a better way to get the word out even more to more young people in our community,” Rivera said.
