BOSTON — During May’s Small Business Month, local leaders, including 10th Essex District State Rep. Dan Cahill, came together at Eastern Bank to celebrate local entrepreneurs and advancing opportunities for small-business owners of color and underrepresented entrepreneurs.
Eastern Bank also celebrated “a new ecosystem of resources” to support those entrepreneurs, which includes its program Equity Alliance for Business and a dynamic group of business support organizations including Ascendus, Black Economic Council of Massachusetts (BECMA), Interise, Massachusetts LGBT Chamber of Commerce, and Mill Cities Community Investments (MCCI).
A fireside chat, with leaders from academia, government and the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, discussed underrepresented small businesses and solutions shaping their path forward.
