ConvenientMD opens Saugus location

SAUGUS — Residents now have another option for medical care in town with the opening of ConvenientMD on Main Street last week.

The urgent-care clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, with no appointment necessary. The Saugus location “treats a broad range of illnesses and injuries – from colds, coughs, and flu, to stitches and broken bones,” the company said in a statement.

“Since opening our first clinic 10 years ago, ConvenientMD has been proud to fulfill a need in our communities for fast, affordable, and quality urgent-care services,” said ConvenientMD co-founder, Chairman, and CEO Gareth Dickens. “The Saugus location is no exception. The clinic is staffed by exceptional local physicians, providers, nurses, X-ray techs, and other medical professionals who look forward to delivering the best medical care to patients of all ages in a welcoming and friendly environment.”

The Saugus clinic will also offer COVID-19 testing, free flu shots, $25 youth sports physicals, IV fluids, EKGs, and employer health services as well as on-site labs and X-rays. Most insurances are accepted at the new clinic, but insurance is not required.

The Portsmouth, N.H.-based company now operates 38 urgent care centers throughout New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts, including a recently opened location in Peabody.

The Main Street location of the Saugus clinic is situated just off Route 1, behind the Hooters.

With no hospital in town, the new urgent-care location will likely offer key services for residents in need of immediate medical care.
