PEABODY — When the Denver Nuggets made it to the NBA Championship for the first time ever, Peabody’s Gary Leavitt decided to invite former Denver Nuggets greats Ralph Simpson and Monte Towe on the “Gary Leavitt and Friends” show on 95.9 WATD, which will take place Wednesday from 8 to 9 p.m.
These two players were instrumental in helping the Denver Nuggets reach the ABA championship in the last season of that league before it merged with the NBA. Both would also play in the NBA for a few years.
Also joining Leavitt on Wednesday night is one of New England’s more popular rock ‘n’ roll bands’ frontperson of the 1970s/1980s, Robin Lane from Robin Lane & the Chart Busters.
This variety show continually draws rave reviews from the radio industry and may move to syndication in the near future.
