LYNN — The major league for marching music, Drum Corps International, is kicking off its summer-competition tour at Manning Field on Saturday, July 1, with the help of presenting sponsor St. Jean’s Credit Union.
The lineup will feature several of the nation’s top drum-and-bugle corps including the 2019 DCI Open Class champion, the Spartans from Nashua, N.H.; the 10-time World Class DCI champion, the Cadets from Erie, Pa.; and the 2022 DCI World Championships silver-medalist and three-time George Zingali Best Color Guard Award recipient, the Boston Crusaders.
Members from these corps come from all over the country and internationally. Pageantry and power will be on display as the corps meet to compete for the first time this summer.
“The support from St. Jean’s Credit Union helps us bring this exciting event to Lynn, and in addition to the competing corps, The Commandant’s Own — United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps — will put on a special performance as well,” Executive Director Chris Holland of the Boston Crusaders/Inspire Arts & Music said. “SJCU continues to be a true community leader.”
The gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance online at bostoncrusaders.org/beanpot/, or at the door on July 1.
