Iglesias Unidas para Adorar a Dios, a Hispanic faith group that seeks peace and well-being in the city, is hosting an event at 2 p.m. on July 9 at Manning Field.
“This event … will be historic, challenging, and motivating to achieve the desired peace and well-being,” a press release from the organization said. “The renowned international group Miel San Marcos will attend it from Guatemala, and the singer and preacher of Argentine origin, Juan Carlos Fernandez, known as ‘Rabito.'”
Pastor Eduardo y Estela Cáceres of Iglesia De Dios De La Profecía De Lynn said that it will be a unique event with several churches from the city coming together.
Iglesias Unidas para Adorar a Dios is working with law enforcement to ensure the safety of all who attend, he said. Members of the group are hoping for a large turnout.
Normally, he said, an event of this size would have entry fees, but thanks to donations it is free.
The group also recently donated $5,000 to the Lynn Hispanic Scholarship Fund and $5,000 to Pathways Adult School as part of the event.
