LYNN — At the June 29, 2023 Lynn Rotary meeting, Sgt. Maj. Ken Oswald spoke about the campaign to raise funds for a permanent monument to Lance Cpl. Bradley Campus, one of 241 marines who were killed in the Beirut barracks bombing on Oct. 23, 1983. The Item had an extensive article concerning this recently.
It is the intent for the monument to be dedicated in October 2023, the 40th anniversary of the bombing. Lance Cpl. Campus was only 21 years old at the time. He was born in Lynn on Feb. 15, 1962.
