LYNN — George Finley, of Saugus, was arraigned in Lynn District Court Monday morning following his arrest for the murder of his housemate Joshua Thomson on Friday.
A not-guilty plea was entered on Finley’s behalf and he is being held without bail. The police report for the case was impounded. There will be a probable-cause hearing on Sept. 12 at Lynn District Court.
On Friday, police responded to a 911 call at 6:36 a.m. reporting that there was a death at 315 Essex St. in Saugus, according to a statement from Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker’s office.
When police arrived on scene, Finley was located at the home he and Thomson shared and “subsequently charged with murder,” the statement said.
The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Essex County District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit and detectives from the Saugus Police Department.
