You know what I’ve been thinking? I couldn’t pick just one Greater Lynn Babe Ruth team, so let’s go with all three.
Not only did all three teams record wins last week, but all three clinched state tournament spots. The 15s host Stoughton Tuesday (5:30), 14s play Wednesday (TBD), and 13s Tuesday at Arlington (7).
The 15s took down Revere last week – in dominating 10-0 fashion, no less. Jake Peterson and Kyle Doney each registered multi-hit games, with Doney plating three. Six walks and six stolen bases later, down go the Patriots.
Another double-digit victory came courtesy of the 14s, who squashed Newton 12-2. Nico Santanasco pitched well, Kalen Huddle threw out three batters from behind the dish, and Trey Riley, Jendol Diaz, and Mark Walsh led the way offensively.
Then came the 13s, who handled Revere 12-1 with Liam Carter and Pat Hurley combining for a no-hit performance. Edvin Rovcanin had two hits and four RBI, while Aaron Connor racked up three RBI alongside three runs scored.
Greater Lynn Babe Ruth, good week, and best of luck.
