LYNN — North Shore Community College will be offering a free machinist training program starting Aug. 7 at Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School.
The program is a partnership between the GE Foundation, NSCC, Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School, and MassHire-North Shore Career Center. Participants can earn a National Institute for Metalworking Skills certificate in CNC milling and college credit.
According to NSCC, skilled workers are in high demand and machinists’ hourly wages are $18 – $25, with entry-level salaries ranging from $30,000 – $50,000.
“Now is the time to start a rewarding career in advanced manufacturing,” a statement from NSCC said.
