You know what I’ve been thinking? The North Shore Navigators (NECBL) are on a roll, largely in part to Evan Griffis in the outfield.
The Navs went on a three-game winning streak this past week with victories against Upper Valley, Mystic, and Newport. They upped their overall record to 16-17, good for third in the Coastal Division.
Across the last seven days, Griffis was everywhere, recording seven hits, 11 RBI, seven runs, two homers, three walks, and two stolen bases. If you’re asking me, that’s as all-around as it gets.
Talk about an explosion. Despite a loss against Ocean State earlier in the week, the sophomore of Stetson University went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. In total this season, Griffis has 35 hits, league-leading 25 RBI, eight stolen bases, and a batting average of .310.
The icing on the cake came Sunday afternoon, as Griffis was named an 𝗡𝗘𝗖𝗕𝗟 All-Star. The game will be played next Sunday at Fraser Field (4:30 p.m.).
No. 23, good week.
