You know what I’ve been thinking? It must feel good to put it all together. It wasn’t a perfect game – as a matter of fact, it was beyond strange – but the Swampscott Little League 12s are District 16 champions after defeating Peabody West 1-0 on Thursday.
Swampscott pitcher Michael Hall – who most fans watched hit a home run against West five days earlier – allowed just one hit to eliminate the opposition.
The lone run belonged to Jett Nichols who reached home plate after an overthrow to the third-baseman. Nichols showed his IQ in half a second, racing to the plate for a 1-0 cushion in the first inning.
Now, it’s on to Sectionals where Coach Dave Paster and company look to do some more damage – to the ball, and their opponent.
