In the debut season of the North Shore 3v3 Hockey League out of the ACM Center in Gloucester, the USA Snipers took the cake, and lots of fun was had.
Featuring some of the fastest and most intense hockey for youth players in the area, North Shore 3’s was launched this year by Jonny Suporn, owner of “Heads Up Hockey” at a fairly-new, mini-sized hockey rink in the ACM Center.
After the regular season, the 8-4 Snipers were tied with Team Zambonis for first place in the league, leading to the two teams settling things in the championship this past Sunday.
Talk about a high-scoring affair – and a nail-biting finish – the Snipers were true to their name, winning 10-9 to become the first champions of the 11U age group.
The Snipers consisted of four players from Saugus, one from Lynnfield, and another from Gloucester.
Games consist of two 20-minute periods of running time with a line change every minute.
