PEABODY — This Tuesday night on 95.9 WATD, Gary Leavitt and Friends will feature interviews with an American troubadour, Don McLean, famous for songs like “American Pie,” “Vincent,” “And I Love You So,” “Castles In The Air,” and so many more, as well as former ABA/NBA basketball great Rick Barry. Barry is one of the few players that won championships in both the ABA and NBA, and was listed as one of the top 50 basketball players of all time.
Leavitt’s show continues to draw rave reviews from other people in the radio industry and may be moving to syndication in the near future. A lot of that has to do with his ability to comfortably interview people from the world of sports, Hollywood, music, comedy, and much more. Longtime Boston radio personality Mike Morin said Leavitt’s style is similar to that of Johnny Carson of late-night TV. His transition from one interview to the next is seamless.
The show airs every Tuesday night from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on 95.9 WATD. You can also stream it live on 959watd.com
