To the editor:
Research shows that children receive the best education when there is parental involvement. Walquiria Leguisamon is the kind of parent who wants to make a difference in the Lynn School Department.
Walquiria embodies four significant attributes needed to foster improved educational outcomes. These include servanthood, boldness/courage, empathy/compassion, and solid and competent leadership skills. Let’s talk about these and how she is well-suited for the School Committee in the city of Lynn.
First and foremost, she is a servant at heart. This has been evident in her involvement in the many community services and nonprofits of Lynn, serving in whatever way she can, contributing to and helping those in need. Recently, she has been helping with the Cook Street Urban Garden. She strategically recruited local businesses to donate goods and supplies to the garden.
Another significant attribute she demonstrates is her boldness/courage. She is the individual you want on the city School Committee who will boldly advocate for families and the school children in Lynn.
Walquiria dares to foster and encourage engagement for every family. She will boldly address the ongoing difficulty and challenges of school and classroom overcrowding. She displays the courage to address the pressing need to increase communication between parents, teachers, and administrators.
Additionally, she is an empathetic and compassionate individual. Walquiria is the candidate who can set a vision to support strong student outcomes because she cares for the communities in Lynn, especially for the ethnic groups and communities who need a voice to advocate for them. She can effectively communicate and advance policies to address every aspect of each school’s operations.
Finally, she will acquire accountability through her strong leadership skills to ensure high academic standards for our students and foster and increase transparency between families and administration. Indeed her business success has demonstrated her leadership skills to forge consensus, reconcile differences, and help reach compromises with all parties to guarantee all students’ needs are addressed.
In conclusion, if you are a parent who would like to have a true representative for your voice, then Walquiria is the person who can make the Lynn Public Schools as competitive as other private and public institutions in the city and in neighboring communities.
Sincerely,
Maria Perez
