MARBLEHEAD — The Health Department has shut down swimming at Grace Oliver Beach, the Police Department announced in a Facebook post Thursday afternoon, stating that it “failed to meet the minimum standards for bathing beaches due to a bacterial exceedance.”
The Police Department stated in the post that the beach was tested again Thursday and results will come back Friday. Devereux Beach, Crocker Park, Gas House, and Stramski’s Beach have also been tested, and those beaches remain open.
Police are asking that any questions on the closure be directed to Director of Public Health Andrew Petty or Public Health Nurse Tracy Giarla.
