LYNN — The legislative delegation representing the city joined Attorney James J. Carrigan on his Lynn Community TV show, “The American Dream,” to discuss “what’s next?”
The delegation, consisting of state Reps. Jenny Armini, Dan Cahill, Peter Capano, and state Sen. Brendan Crighton, spoke with Carrigan about a wide range of issues, including policies set to go into effect with the passage of the state’s fiscal year 2024 budget, which Gov. Maura Healey signed into law Wednesday.
Crighton pointed to a policy allowing undocumented immigrants to attend school at in-state tuition rates as a major achievement that received a tremendous reception locally.
“When people think about the budget, oftentimes they think it’s only associated with money,” Crighton said, adding that the policy represents “the House and the Senate… (providing) an equal opportunity for everyone to achieve an education.”
The show, which airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., and Saturdays at 7 a.m. on Comcast Channel 3 and Verizon Channel 38, is “designed to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at how public and private policy is developed,” according to Carrigan.
Episodes can be found on the Lynn Community Television website after they air.
