LTE: A vote for Sean Reid for School Committee

To the editor

August 30, 2023 by To the editor

To the editor:

Sean Reid has lived in Lynn his entire life. He is a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and Amherst College. He’s energetic and brings youth and a new vision.

As Lynn’s diverse community continues to grow, Sean is committed to ensuring that all of Lynn’s public school students receive the best education and learning experience, and that the best safety standards are in place so that students feel safe at school.

As technology rapidly changes, Sean will focus on getting state funding that’s available for the purpose of upgrading current schools and new schools. Having access to new technology will certainly be beneficial for Lynn’s students.

As district director for the office of Sen. Brendan Creighton, Sean has the passion, knowledge, understanding, and commitment that is required to be a School Committee member.

Kayak and Sail Lynn is a nonprofit that Sean and his former teacher started that gives Lynners (the focus is largely on kids, veterans, etc.) the opportunity to “get on the water” via kayaking, paddle boarding, etc.

Sean is an active member of the Lynn Rotary Club, including on various committees. He helped organize the first cornhole tournament to raise funds for scholarships for Lynn students. He also recently joined the YMCA of Metro North’s board.

Helping Lynn’s students excel academically not only benefits the students, it also benefits the entire community.

Sean would no doubt be an asset to the Lynn School Committee.

I respectfully ask that you cast your vote for Sean Reid on Primary Day, Sept. 5, and on Nov. 7.

Sincerely,

Robert Nadeau

Lynn
