Fenwick impresses in McNiff relays (ROUNDUP)

PEABODY — Bishop Fenwick High hosted the Catholic Central McNiff Cross Country Relay Meet on Saturday.

Fenwick won the girls, co-ed, and boys relay divisions.

Marianna Kay, Julia Davis, and Adelaide Sweatman won the girls division with a time of 18:41, breaking their record from last year by 64 seconds. Fenwick placed four teams in the top 10, finishing first, third, eighth, and ninth.

Teams from Archbishop Williams, Greater Lawrence, and Cardinal Spellman rounded out the top 10.

The Fenwick boys placed three teams in the top 10 with Sam Appleyard, Doron Appleyard, and Will Rand taking fourth place. 

The hosts also won the co-ed division, which was composed of two girls, Kay and Julia, and one boy in Sam Appleyard.

Fenwick is back in action Sept. 19 against CCL rivals Archbishop Williams and Bishop Stang at 4 p.m. in Peabody.

The Magicians and Panthers fought yard, but had to settle for a tie Saturday morning in Marblehead. Captain Jack Burke scored both goals for the Magicians, while assists were provided by Kyle Hart and Max Dressel.
