The St. John’s Prep football team (2-0) hung on to dear life Saturday afternoon at Glatz Field in Danvers, but come the final whistle, the Eagles remained perfect in the win column.

In another year helmed by former NFL and Boston College quarterback Brian St. Pierre, his Eagles flew over Central Catholic 30-28.

Senior Dylan Aliberti racked up 200 yards of total offense alongside three touchdowns. Fellow senior Cam LaGrassa wasn’t bad, either, racking up 113 yards and a touchdown.

The Prep had double the first downs (18-9), and Grayson Ambrosh snatched an interception on the defensive side.

The Eagles’ first win was a 41-20 thrashing of Marshfield, and they host Haverhill Friday at 6 p.m.

Prep scored all its goals in the final 20 minutes and change, and travels to face rival Xaverian on Tuesday (4 p.m.).
