LYNN — The city will play host to a celebration of the Latino business community Monday.
The North Shore Latino Business Association’s Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration is something for everyone to enjoy, according to NSLBA President and Founder Frances Martinez.
“It is open to everyone. We are a very diverse community,” Martinez said. “Just because it is a Hispanic celebration we’re not going to have someone not be included — everyone is included.”
The event, which runs from 5:30-8 p.m., will feature music, food, dance, and performance as the organization highlights the diverse businesses of the city and allows attendees of the event at 33 Sutton St. to get a taste of the local Hispanic flavor from the eight restaurants represented.
Martinez said it is important for the city to recognize the diversity of businesses in the area and allow all people to take part in appreciating what each of them brings to the table.
“Eventually it’s going to be a big party celebrating Hispanic heritage,” Martinez said. “It is our responsibility to highlight some of the businesses in the community.”
On Sept. 17, the NSLBA held its 12th annual Gala Dinner to celebrate new members and honor its 2023 award winners at the Danversport Harborview Ballroom.
The event featured recognition of businesses and business leaders, presentations from the NSLBA Board, and the association’s 2023 awards.
It also featured various speakers, including Mayor Jared Nicholson and keynote speaker Secretary Lauren E. Jones of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.
2023 award winners included:
