You know what I’ve been thinking? There aren’t many receivers on the North Shore more skilled than Lynn Classical superstar John Nasky.
He can run by his defender on a go-route, pivot for a quick slant, and, most importantly in my opinion, extend his body tremendously to make catches in the middle of the field.
It’s not like Nasky has much more to prove in a Classical uniform, but, spoiler alert, he did it again last Thursday.
In the Rams’ 38-14 win against Medford in enemy territory, Nasky hauled in eight catches for 135 yards (126 in the first half) and three touchdowns.
They were all different, too. One was a fade, another a screen, and the third was in tight from Medford’s 5-yard line.
Consider the Mustangs’ secondary torched.
“I was just going in there wanting to win more than anyone else on the other team,” Nasky said.
Head coach Brian Vaughan Sr. talked about the “chemistry” in the passing game. Will Classical keep that up at Manning Field on Friday (7:30 p.m.), or will visiting Malden spoil the Rams’ home outing? See you then.
John, good week.
