It didn’t matter if they were on offense, defense, or special teams the Rams (4-1) were dominant in all three phases of the game beating Malden 34-0 at Manning Field.
The Rams showed why defenses fear them as they finished the game with 426 total yards (270 in the opening half).
Brian Vaughan Jr. threw four touchdown passes with John Nasky (101 yards receiving) and RJ Faessler (3 receptions for 58 yards) each catching two touchdowns.
Javon Clayborn contributed on the ground rushing for 97 yards for the Rams.

Masco 0
The Magicians pick up their first win of the season (1-4) as they defeat Masco in enemy territory.
Andy Palmer caught two touchdown passes in the win. Palmer’s second touchdown was from 22-yards out to give the Magicians a 20-0 in the third quarter.
Finn Gallup scored Marblehead’s first touchdown of the game with a four-yard run in the second quarter.
St. John’s Prep 35
St. John’s Shrewsbury 0
The undefeated Eagles pick up their fifth win of the season in a dominating display.
Talk about defense, the Eagles forced a turnover (2 fumbles and 2 interceptions) on Shrewsbury’s first four offensive drives.
Jimmy Nardone opened the scoring for St. John’s Prep with a 38-yard run. After the score Prep went right back to Nardone for the two-point conversion to give the Eagles an early 8-0 lead.
Merrick Barlow had himself a strong game with multiple big-time catches including a 64-yard touchdown reception.
Salem 55
Saugus 20
It was a tough night in Salem for the Sachems. Saugus trailed the undefeated Witches 42-0 before scoring its first touchdown.
Tommy Desimone returned the kick-off to get the Sachems on the board.
The Sachems will look to bounce back next week when they travel to Gloucester on Thursday.

Fenwick 14
The battle of two undefeated teams saw the Crusaders (4-1) lose their first game of the season.
Fenwick got on the scoreboard first with a 55-yard pass from Brayden Clifford to Kurtis Bruch within the first minute of the game.
Fenwick scored its second and final touchdown of the game with 2:12 left in the first quarter when Luke Connolly ran 81 yards to the end zone to give Fenwick a 14-7 lead.
The Cardinals would go on and score 21 unanswered to move to 5-0 on the year.
Greater Lawrence 28

The Bulldogs (1-4) fell short of a road victory against Greater Lawrence.
After the game English head coach Anthony LaFratta said quarterback Limbert Thomas did a “great job scrambling” and that he “played pretty well.”
Jordan Em also received praise from LaFratta who said Em “he played pretty well and made some good catches for us.”
English will look to bounce back next week against Malden.

The Panthers battled back after being down 22-8 at halftime to pick up its fourth win of the season (4-1).
“It was a very slow start. We came out sloppy and found ourselves down at the half,” KIPP coach Jim Rabbitt said. “In the second half, we came out and battled back. It wasn’t our best effort but the coaches challenged the kids and they responded.”
Chanel Gutierrez couldn’t be stopped rushing for over 115 yards and passing for 205 with four total touchdowns.
“He was great tonight,” Rabbitt said.

The Sachems didn’t allow the Tigers to come into their house and leave with a win.
Saugus flashed its potential scoring two goals while also showing it can defend earning a clean sheet against a talented Tech forward line.

The Big Blue and the Crusaders battled to a 1-1 draw on Friday afternoon. Swampscott’s goal was scored by Greta Siefken which was assisted by Jane Raymond.
Swampscott’s next game is on Monday against Winthrop (10 a.m.), while the Crusaders play on Wednesday against Malden Catholic.

The Tigers (7-2) complete their two games in two nights with another win. Tech won the first two sets and the fourth set (25-17, 25-18, 25-27, 25-20).
Zahara Belizaire had 14 assists and seven aces, while Maria Groscos had 10 kills, 10 digs, and six aces for the Tigers.
Lesnee Izaguirre had six kills, three digs, and an ace and teammate Ava Bishop contributed with 17 digs.

It wasn’t meant to be for the Big Blue as Fenwick picked up the road win (25-19, 15-25, 12-25, 15-25).
Swampscott’s Jamila Oriakhi had seven service points and two aces, while teammate Sofia Comfort recorded five service points and an ace.

The Rams (10-1) have officially qualified for the state tournament with a 3-1 road win against Everett.
Junior captain and outside hitter Amanda Hughes had a strong performance finishing the game with 10 kills and three aces.
Classical’s next match is on Monday at Malden (11:30 a.m.).

One of the closest matchups of the season saw the Spartans (9-4) fall one point short of Fenwick on Friday.
Micah Hashikawa led the Spartans with 36 points while Shea Newhall (32) and Kyle Rush (30) chipped in for St. Mary’s.
St. Mary’s next match is against English on Wednesday, while Fenwick travels to Peabody on the same day.
