SAUGUS — The town’s Department of Public Works is growing.
This week, Town Manager Scott Crabtree announced the hiring of two new full-time members of the department — Brett Lincoln and Charles Graffeo. Both Lincoln and Graffeo are town residents and have worked in public works previously.
Lincoln spent the past nine years as a marine terminal operator for Global Petroleum in Revere, while Graffeo has been a temporary seasonal employee working for the DPW each of the past two years. Graffeo recently graduated from the University of New Hampshire.
In a statement, Crabtree said he expects both men to have an immediate impact on the department’s operations.
“I am proud to announce the appointment of both Mr. Graffeo and Mr. Lincoln,” Crabtree said. “They both value the importance of public service and will be dedicated to responsive and professional service to the people and businesses of Saugus.”
Public Works Director Brendan O’Regan similarly spoke highly of both men.
“Brett and Charlie are top-notch, and I know the people of Saugus will be well served by both of them,” he said.
The statement does not specify what roles Lincoln and Graffeo will play in the department, which oversees myriad operations in town. The highway, forestry, cemetery, parks, waste collection, water, and sewer departments all fall under the department’s purview, according to the town’s budget.
