PEABODY — Robert King, 61, of Peabody, was pronounced dead early Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle at approximately 7:40 p.m. Sunday on Summit Street.
Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker announced King died of injuries, which he sustained from being hit by the vehicle, after being rushed to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
The name of the driver is being withheld pending the completion of an investigation, which involves the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and investigators from the Peabody Police Department.
As of press time, no charges had been filed.
