Despite a slow start the Rams (11-1) rallied back after going behind in the first set (2-10) to go on and win the set 25-20.
“It was a sluggish start,” Rams coach Chris LeBlanc said. “Junior captain Amanda Hughes put down a kill to get the serve back for the Rams and that is when senior captain Linda Jallow went to work with six consecutive aces.”
Once the Rams tied the set at 10-10, they got in their groove, cruising to the set win.
After winning the first set, the Rams didn’t look back and never trailed for the rest of the match, winning the second set 25-15 and the final set 25-4 to complete the sweep.
Sophomore setter Emma Chevalier had a career day with 28 assists and five aces, while Hughes had a season high of 13 kills to go along with four aces.
Linda Jallow contributed with eight aces while Nevaeh Eth finished the game with seven kills and two aces.
The Rams next match is on Wednesday, when they travel to Lynn English in a match to raise money for domestic violence awareness in honor of Lynn Public Schools teacher Angela Masucci. The match is scheduled to start at 5:15 p.m.

Newton North 2
Peabody 1

Cardinal Spellman 4
St. Mary’s 0
After coming off of a 1-0 win against Newburyport, the Spartans hosted Cardinal Spellman. Spellman came into Lynn undefeated and left undefeated. Unfortunately for the Spartans, they couldn’t spoil its season.
The Spartans did have some success in the game, as they had 17 total shots on goal.
According to head coach Jim Foley, Cam Dunn and Ava Nason “played well.”
Saugus 8
Gloucester 1
If there’s one thing we’ve learned about the Sachems this season, it’s that they score a lot of goals. Monday was no different against Gloucester.
The Sachems have scored more than six goals in four games this season. Having a strong defense allows the Sachems to get further forward and put constant pressure on their opponents.
The Sachems next match is on Wednesday against Salem.
