SAUGUS — For the second year in a row this weekend, new residents and lifelong Saugonians alike can get the 411 on the town.
Saugus 411, an event created by Selectman Corinne Riley last year, is slated to be held at the Saugus Middle/High School Complex from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The event will feature local nonprofit organizations, Saugus sports teams, and other community groups along with information from the Senior Center, library groups, and houses of worship, as well as information about the school district.
“Take in everything there is to find out about our town,” a flyer advertising the event reads.
Riley said the idea for Saugus 411 came from her experience attending a Wakefield 101 event with state Rep. Donald Wong, whose district covers parts of Saugus, while serving as his campaign manager. Riley said that event was “unbelievable” and made her wonder why Saugus didn’t have something similar.
