Motor Vehicle Accident

A report of a hit and run motor vehicle accident at 3:47 p.m. Tuesday on Foster Street. Party summonsed for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with property damage.

Harassment

A report of harassment at 2:03 a.m. Tuesday on Newbury Street. Threats/harassment via text. Report taken.

Shoplifting

A report of shoplifting at 5:24 p.m. Tuesday at a J.C. Penney store on 210J Andover Street. Mall security stopped two shoplifters. Parties summonsed on four total charges.

Stolen Motor Vehicle

A report of a stolen motor vehicle at 6:12 p.m. Tuesday on Sherman Street. Stolen moped. Services rendered.

SAUGUS

Accidents

Police received multiple 911 calls for a car into a home at 11:46 a.m. Tuesday at 51 Lincoln Ave. Two people were taken to the hospital; the department of public works was notified for a downed street sign at Lincoln Avenue and Vincent Street; and an unstable portion of the porch had been destroyed. 

A caller reported a vehicle hit her car and drove off at 4:46 p.m. Tuesday at McDonalds, 127 Broadway. 

A report of a four-car accident with no injuries at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Hooters, 1143 Broadway. 

A caller reported she works at Party City and a woman stole some items and when confronted in the parking lot, the suspect backed into her vehicle before fleeing the lot at 1:14 p.m. Wednesday at 1160 Broadway. 

Animal

A caller reported a tan pitbull mix attacked him and was running around the neighborhood at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday at 5 Marden St. Dispatched officers reported that they had identified the possible dog owner who moved in about a month ago, and the caller has no broken skin and declined medical attention. 

Complaints

A caller reported a gathering of about three to four people playing music and talking loudly at 12:27 a.m. Tuesday at The Residences at Stevens Pond, 1 Founders Way. The gathering was at the gazebo on the property. Officers spoke with the individuals, who said they would be going inside. Peace was restored. 

A caller reported a stereo that has been playing for a week in an empty apartment at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday at Laurel Gardens, 2 Rice St. A dispatched officer reported the radio was shut off. 

Disturbances

A caller reported her landlord was trying to get into her apartment without notice for a cleaning company at 11:06 a.m. Tuesday at 21 Mt. Vernon St. Dispatched officers determined the incident was a dispute between a tenant and landlord, and the tenant was not allowing the landlord to perform required work. 

A 911 caller reported a group of about 10-15 youths on bicycles causing a disturbance in the street and someone threw an object off her home at 3:42 p.m. Tuesday at 62 Clifton Ave. 

Suspicious

A caller reported a suspicious vehicle with a loud exhaust had been running for 20 minutes and he didn’t recognize it from the neighborhood at 3:24 a.m. Tuesday at 86 Auburn St. A dispatched officer determined the report was unfounded. 

A caller reported he lost his wallet at the Northshore Mall Tuesday night and an AirTag inside it was pinging at 27 Greystone Road at 10:27 a.m. Wednesday. A dispatched officer met with the caller, who reported the owner did find a wallet at the mall, but alleges she left it at the mall with security.

Thefts

Loss prevention reported an employee theft of $4,000 in cash at 1:01 p.m. Tuesday at Lowe’s, 1500 Broadway. 

A walk-in reported his wallet may have been stolen out of his vehicle on Oct. 8 between 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. at Verizon, 623 Broadway. 

A walk-in report of identity fraud at 12:16 p.m. Wednesday at 846 Broadway. A woman reported her neighbor has been using her personal information to obtain SSI benefits without her knowledge or consent.

SWAMPSCOTT

Animal

A report of animal abuse at 4:13 p.m. Tuesday at Essex Avenue. Caller reported he saw someone possibly abusing a dog.

Trespassing

A report of trespassing at 9:37 p.m. Tuesday at 20 Lincoln Ave. The caller reported someone inside her house. Officers found the residence all clear.
