You know what I’ve been thinking? Swampscott girls soccer star – yes, star – Greta Siefken doesn’t play like a freshman.
With her direct playstyle, not-afraid-to-shoot approach, pinpoint ball placement, and strong defensive tracking, she’s been, perhaps, the biggest story when it comes to the Big Blue.
In Monday evening’s 4-0 win against Winthrop, she scored yet another goal, making it 12 across her last seven games.
This past week, she tucked two to go with an assist against Winthrop (6-0 win), scored Swampscott’s lone goal in a 1-1 draw against Gloucester, and tallied another in a 2-1 triumph over Mystic Valley.
To sum it up, Siefken is a midfielder, but scores like a striker, and first-year coach Jaymie Caponigro must love coaching her.
Greta, good week.
